Since no one appears to have sung your praises lately, here's a late review. In April 2010 my boyfriend had to move his 'ex' out of a large two story condo apartment into a smaller one. Without the gory details, Eduardo and his crew of 3 came in, 'gutted' the place in no time (which was amazing) and had everything unloaded at the new place in 5 hours.
Like one of the other reviews, the move has to be done again due to a problem with the apartment and she needs to go to another unit. My boyfriend is at the Northstar office right now arranging it. He had to be out of town before and I supervised the move. I was blown away at how fast these guys were, I think they took 15 minutes for lunch and that was it. Affordable, pleasant, quick and I don't think anything was broken--and that was a LOT of stuff to move. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Best Moving Company Ever!
I recently moved from Los Angeles to the Portland, Oregon area (Beaverton, Oregon, to be specific). NorthStar was recommended to me by my realtor who had several clients use the company before. I am a Yelper, and looked them up myself. Nothing but good word-of-mouth. So, I went for it, and it was the right decision. It was actually cheaper than PODS, UHaul, or any of the other do-it-yourself services that I was looking into. We worked together on the price, and I think we received an amazing deal. We had a ton of stuff to move. They did all of the work; I had no idea how much work it would be. Both the old and new house are 3 levels. They had a huge crew move everything fast and carefully within a few hours at each end. I was surprised at the time, care, and materials they put into making sure that everything was moved carefully. They supplied us with some of the boxes and packing material to get us started. I had no idea how much stuff we had! They told me not to stress if we couldn't pack it all up ourselves. It ended up that when they got there, they actually helped us pack a lot of our stuff up for no extra cost. I could not believe how they wrapped up the furniture! They used a ton of moving blankets and plastic wrap. Nothing got scratched or broken. Again, it was surprising for how many boxes and pieces of furniture we had that everything made it over 1,000 miles with no damage. It took us 2 days to drive up to Oregon, and we barely beat them. They got it all up here fast and safely. Very courteous crew. Very friendly and efficient. It was my first moving experience and I was very impressed. I was also glad that I didn't attempt it myself. Sometimes the only way is to hire someone, and NorthStar was the right company for sure. They even called me to make sure everything was there and that there was no damage. How many companies would do that? I am so happy and satisfied, I could go on and on! I very highly recommend them. Look no further!

We hired Northstar based on Angles List reviews. WOW! Were we impressed with
the entire process. Great communication, particularly from our driver, Oren.
We are Senior citizens and this company handled the entire move without any
damage or loss.
We moved March 2012.
Oren arrived on time with 3 other men who had the furniture wrapped so fast
we could not believe it. They staged the items, loaded the truck and left in
5 hours.
We met them in Arizona 2 days later! Same thing for unloading. Oren with DI Trucking deserves
a service award of some type. He not only communicates well with the customer,
but he treats his associates with such respect.
Fantastic job. We would recommend to anyone moving to use NorthStar.

AMAZING from start to finish!
OMG did I ever regret not using these guys during my last move. The guys arrived just a little after 8:00 AM and I was told they would be there between 8-10 AM. They were ready to get the show on the road even though I had an enormous amount of boxes and antiques. They protected my heirlooms and treated my plants with respect and protected them so they wouldn’t break during the ride as if it were their own property they were moving, which I really appreciated. I was amazed at how quick it was for them to load and ready to get on the road within 3 hours which is about what we all expected they would take and as we found stuff they didn’t realize they had to take, they made room in the truck to make sure all my valuables went with them safely.
The crew moved at a speed I had never seen before and the ride was quicker than everyone expected. It only took them 1 hour which they thought it would be about 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 min. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved at the speed to which they arrived at my new place. Once at our new home they cracked the whip, I don’t know where they got the second wind, but these extremely hard workers got it and rolled with their new found wind.
The only thing I was expecting different was that they would unload first what the loaded last and I think that would have made things easier for them and quicker and in turn easier when unpacking but I will not take away from what a blessing these guys were to my mother, my pets, and especially to myself. I could not and would have not been able to survive the stress of moving, working 2 jobs, and finding a new place without the wonderful company of North Star.
I hope it’s a long time before I have to move again but when I do move into my purchased home I know for sure I will use them and I will make sure not to forget to buy the Yelp Deal which saved me $50 bucks. Now a day, that’s dinner at a nice restaurant. LOL.
If you want to shop around, I suggest you do to get piece of mind but don’t forget that you get what you pay for and this place not only gives you the best deal, it gives you an even better customer service from the time you open your door to get your estimate which is spot on with what they will end up spending to the moment they leave your property after unloading all your stuff. I was so tired I almost forgot my receipts and they kept calling me and running after me to give me the receipts. I trusted these men with my most precious items and they were great at treating them as if they were their own. Nothing got lost and THEY did not break anything. They made some new items look like antiques but fortunately I like that look and was grateful I didn’t have to do it myself.

Northstar Moving Corporation - Customer Review - Highly Satisfied Customer
Recently i had to help my mother move from her assisted living center to a nursing home and part of that move required me to move some large furniture items to a storage facility. So i needed to find a moving company and of course, one that would be trustworthy and exhibit a high level of customer satisfaction. I began my search using Yelp.com and noticed a number of apparent satisfied customers. The customers seemed very happy with Northstar's service so i decided to research their Better Business Bureau rating and that reflected a high level of satisfaction as well. So i decided to go with Northstar.
The process of contacting Northstar was very simple and quick. I decided to use their website and entered a estimate request. Very quickly a representative named Stefy called me back with some questions and she was very polite and answered all the questions i had. After several more communications we were set for our move date.
The move date went very smoothly. The 3 guys assigned to my job were very friendly and communicative. They completed our job efficiently and took special care to shrink wrap my fragile items for the trip over to the storage facility. All in all, the job only took about 2 hours with another hour for a special run to drop off a chair at my mothers nursing home facility. I was extremely happy with their work and their efficiency. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone who needs to undertake a move.

Second Large Interstate Move With NORTHSTAR
Just moved from Phoenix, AZ to the San Francisco Bay Area. This was a massive move (16,000 pounds, 500 items) and NorthStar arrived with driver and four-member crew as promised. Wrapped and packed all belongings with care and worked to nightfall without stopping. When the semi rolled away, I felt confident my belongings would arrive on the other end in good shape. When the crew arrived in the Bay Area, it was a relief to see the same driver, Ben, and foreman, Mike Taylor, were in charge. They got the truck unloaded without a problem. This move was unexpected and had to happen within a window of time. Sam Rothshield in Operations at NorthStar made it happen. This is my second good experience with NorthStar. In 2003, I had moved from L.A. to Phoenix with them, and they were excellent. I recommend them for long hauls and big moves. A special thanks to Ben, the driver, and Mike Taylor, foreman, who set the tone for extraordinary effort and consideration. Great job!

best moving experience ever
I had an unbelievable experience with Northeaster.
After a terrible mess with another company I found Northstar on Angie's List and they were able to move our son right away.. Stefy was the first person I spoke to and she was friendly and professional as was everyone else, even when we had our own drams. Sam the supervisor was amazing and a tremendous help and comfort to us during the confusion which was caused by us. During the years we have been moved by large companies during job transfers. When this happens the company deals with the movers and they have a "higher power " to deal with . With just us, and no large company and no big contract hanging over their head northstar was by far the best we've had EVER!
I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone they were a pleasure to deal with !!!!

Great Service!
They moved our tax consulting company last year.
It’s not a huge office but we’re also not small company.
We have computers and work stations, lots of filing cabinets. It was important for us to know that our mover of choice, will be able to both move the delicate items safely, and that our files will be kept in order.
Our first step was doing some research online, reading reviews. The next step was calling a few companies. NorthStar Moving really stood out from the first phone call with their attentiveness, knowledge and real care for our needs. The estimator they sent, Ben, was also very impressive. We felt he took the time to look at our office, listen, and figure out what will work best. Their crew was efficient and respectful, and did a fantastic job.

Once Again, excellent service by Northstar Moving
This was my 3rd major move coordinated by Northstar, and once again they did an excellent job. Both Ted, who scheduled the moving reservation, and Adam the dispatcher were on top of things, and I was able to get my furniture picked up on the exact day that I wanted it. They were also able to work with the driver to deliver at a time that was convenient for me, and the pick-up and delivery crews did a very good job of loading and unloading things carefully---including complicated items like a grand piano and an elliptical training machine. I would highly recommend Northstar based upon these 3 experiences I have had with them.

Three guys handled my 3 bedroom condo in one trip. They were great. Super polite, really nice guys. I made a couple mistakes that cost them some time and they were so cool about it. They took apart 2 beds and a baby crib, and reassembled them at the new location. I had some extremely heavy stuff, and it was not a problem. Can't believe I considered moving it myself. So glad I went with NorthStar.

On May 27th of this year I moved to a house by using NorthStar moving company, on scheduled date & time 4 people showed up, 1 speaks 50% English and the rest combined 50%, nothing is wrong in not knowing the language, but in a case like this somebody has to be fluent, but it's not a problem, the apartment that I moved from was on second floor, at the apartment they broke the PA system which I told them I fix it, they broke the light fixture on the stairway which they did not notify me about by they cleaned the evidence, I found out accidentally at night when the stairway was dark, the move was on Friday, on Saturday I had company over and I started opening the boxes, I opened Crystal glassware box and found 75% broken even though I had the boxes marked Fragile, I sent the company an e-mail and they responded next day by e-mail and a phone call, saying that I signed for an insurance for the amount of 60 cents per pound for damages which there was not another choice, so I estimated my crystal damage and it came to about $8, not even worth talking about, since we were settling down, we were opening boxes when ever we made room for the contents, next damage was few plates after that my paper shredder which luckily was not too much about $80, I still have unopened boxes in the garage, ready to be discovered. I personally had bad experience with NorthStar Moving company, I would not recommend it.

NorthStar Moving Company was by very far the best moving company I have ever used. They showed up right on time, with clean, polite & respectful movers. I have a lot of heavy & fragile furniture and they were able to handle everything seemingly effortlessly.
They had my whole house packed up, on the truck truck & unloaded in just a short work day, I couldn't have asked them to move any quicker or with more care.
When I first called NorthStar I spoke with a very professional & polite woman named Kat Alexander, She handled all of my questions through out the entire moving process, It was truly refreshing to get to speak with her every time I needed to call, knowing I wouldn't have to re-explain the whole situation all over again with a different person.
They had one of the best price tags I've ever even heard of a moving company providing, they were completely fair in what they charged me, especially considering how much work they actually had to do, along with helping me box things up throughout the day, because I waited till the last minute to pack.
I moved to Los Angeles about 6 years ago and have moved around the area near 10 times, using all the well known and not so well known moving companies, and the only problem I had with NorthStar was that I didn't find them 6 years ago; They would have saved me a lot of time, money, hassle & damaged property.
As long as I live in Los Angeles, I will never look for another moving company again.

I give NORTH STAR nothing but RAVE reviews + 5 more stars!! This was my husbands and I first time using a moving company. After all the horror stories you read about moving companies and even learning about one a friend had gone through I was a bit apprehensive about using one at all! Relocating out of state from Culver city, California to Colorado we really didn't know what to expect. We had NEVER used a moving company before and had done a lot of research online. We came across North Star and read all the reviews (yelp & BBB) we thought we would be in good hands & we were CORRECT. Ron, Adam & Andre were all great, professional, friendly & efficient! They took care of everything and answered all our questions. They worked hard to make sure that things were exactly the way we expected them to be.
I Was worried that a few boxes might even get lost in the move and NOT 1 was missing! A few things were broken in the process (which is to be expected in any move) sadly they were more sentimental than a price can be put on them STILL I would call NORTH STAR again because of the professionalism and level of CUSTOMER service we received. Which is rare to find in a big company these days. I do my research and I write my reviews and I can say this is probably the first I have ever given such stellar reviews, I credit that to the level of customer service these people strive for. I was ALSO very impressed with the crew that came to pack us as well, they moved right a long, only took 1 break the whole 4 hours and even came sooner then we were told to expect them!
Appreciated the returned phone calls each time I had a question I needed to ask Adam as well as the follow up call to see how the move went & if the level of service was what I expected it to be! I would recommend this company to any of my friends & family and they would be the first MOVING company I called again, if I ever needed one!

I called many moving services and they responded quickly. They were extremely thorough explaining their services and provided me with better service than I expected. The movers accidentally broke a bookshelf, but I was refunded within a few weeks. I would definitely use them again!

I can tell you that I could not be happier that I was with Carlos Perez and his guys. They were capable, efficient and all had nice attitudes. Carlos was particulary skilled when it came time to break down furniture and put it back together again, remove and replace door handles and a door -- he was amazingly quick and skilled. Everything got to my place without a scratch and without damage to the walls and molding of either place. The whole move went quicker than I expected too.
