American Debt Services appears to be a scam. Even one of their reps didn't deny it when challenged on the phone. They have failed in the months we've been with them to contact any of our debtors and even begin the negotiation process. We've independently received offers of settlement sent it to A.D.S. requesting they begin the dialogue and they have failed to do so.
When contacted, the rep Mike appeared indifferent. Didn't deny they had failed to contact anyone and basically told me if I didn't like I can call back in a few days time - said his supervisor wasn't there despite the fact it was only 4.30pm local time. Made no attempt to resolve or attempt.
When challenged was this a scam in reality - he became very quiet and didn't deny the allegation.
Left a message for the smooth talking sales rep Matt Mueller - thanking him for talking us into the scam.
The facts are these - had we not gone with American Debt Services we could have already made some settlements - American Debt Services' process actually put us further behind in settling our debts. The settlements we are receiving (without their help) appear better than American Debt said they could negotiate on our behalf. It is clear they add little or no value - which makes American Debt Services a classic ripoff - there has to be a fair and equitable exchange of value in services to the fees or price paid. This is not the case with American Debt.
It's one thing to be disappointed it's another to be exploited - we are already down, their actions have taken us further down. It was a huge mistake to have believed their promises - they were not honest in the selling process. They said they could negotiate settlements far better then we could because of their "massive clout" with creditors and "their special team" of debt settlement negotiators they could deploy especially in light of the magnitude of our debt. These statements appear to be false on both counts.
Nothing less than getting our money back at this point would satisfy us at this point.
