Review 6/16/2010

Received as a gift a stroller by Baby Trend in April, 2010. After one month out of the box, and with only limited use, a rip developed in the pad on the handlebar. Company refused to stand behind the product. Customer service was not only unhelpful, but unprofessional. Twice I was implicitly called a liar when it was "suggested" that the issue was actually from wear and tear, as if that should determine the company's responsibility in replacing the part. The manager, Brad Mattarocci, refused to come to the phone, and three times failed to respond to voicemails requesting a return phone call. I was asked to send in a picture of the tear in the fabric on the grip, only to have the e-mail ignored until I followed up two days later. We were told a part was in but we had to pay to replace, and then we were told that no part actually existed after all, and that this was "too bad" for us. The 2nd customer service representative who dealt with us, Joe, admitted that "in layman's terms" the company had "screwed up". I'd say it's more accurate that anyone who even considers purchasing a product from this company has "screwed up".
