Review 9/15/2010
I had a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience (or experiences) with Kristine at Bamboo. I received a gift certificate as my first mother's day present from my son which included a hour and a half massage and a pedicure. I made my appointment for my hour and a half massage which Kristine ended by hurrying off to call a friend before even waiting for me to check out and leave. When I got home I realized that she had cut my massage short by a half hour. When I called to let her know of her error she hardly acknowledged it without even a sorry but said we could do it another time. Later I scheduled my next appointment for my pedicure which I totally spaced with so much on my mind as a new mommy. I called Kristine as soon as I realized I had missed the appointment to say that I was so sorry, she was very rude and said she didn't have her appointment book to reschedule me and that she couldn't do this right now because she was very busy and would have to call me back. She never called me back. By this point I dreaded the whole situation so it took me a while to finally convince myself to deal with it again and try to make my appointment. After leaving a message for an appointment request Kristine left me a message saying that she has a policy that when someone misses their appointment they owe the full amount and also said that I had scheduled my massage on the missed pedicure day too so my gift certificate was used up. I called her right back, she didn't pick up so I left a message saying that this policy was not written anywhere on the gift certificate or in the brochure, she did not mention this to my mom who purchased the gift certificate or to me when I called to apologies for the missed appointment. She called me back a few minutes later and was extremely rude and said that the policy is written on the wall in the studio. I let her know that the missed appointment had only been for the pedicure and she said 'no it was for both' basically calling me a lier. Kristine said if she was feeling generous she would give me half the cost of what both were worth which was almost a pedicure and I would pay the difference and kept saying thats just if she was feeling generous because I had cost her business. I was so stressed out from dealing with this I just said fine I'll take the almost pedicure but I would not be recommending her to anyone because she has been so rude and very unbusinesslike to me and she said that I was a bad customer and I had cost her business by missing my appointment. In short she completely demolished my nice mother's day present that was supposed to be relaxing but ironically all it did was cause me a bunch of unneeded stress. I wont be going back for my almost pedicure or any other reason because I don't want to deal with her antagonistic demeanor and I warn anyone else to not waste their money to just be stressed out and treated rudely. I am a business student and I know for a fact that this is no way to treat a customer I feel like I have completely missed out because I have never had a pedicure before and I was actually really excited. TOTAL BUMMER!!!!!! I would really like my money back.
