Simply AWFUL. Unfortunately, there's no option of giving them ZERO stars or I would.
Our woes began when our 1995 Chevy Camaro failed its smog test. We had no clue that there was something going on with it because it ran smoothly and never gave us any trouble. At the recommendation of the smog check station, we drove the car to this repair center for them to test and repair it to help it pass the smog test. They took TWO days to do their diagnostics and Nasir called us to tell us that he had no idea why it was failing and that it would cost us a lot of money to diagnose the problem IN DETAIL. My husband quickly told him not to bother, that we would pick up the vehicle later that day and that we would probably retire it (State of CA pays a $1000 to buy vehicles that fail this test). Nasir didn't seem too happy with this decision and asked my husband TWO TIMES if this decision was final. That should have been a warning sign.
When we went to pick up our car later that evening, Nasir told us that it wouldn't start. We were surprised because it had been running fine when we dropped it off - we had driven it to the station!. Then, he told us to leave it there for another day to 'fix it'. The next day, he calls us in the morning to tell us that the fuel pump needed to be replaced if the car would start and that this would cost us $800!!
We feel angry and cheated. This was a perfectly running car and now it wouldn't even start due to something that the shop did to force us to buy expensive diagnostics and repairs. We told him to forget it, and had it towed back to our house where it is now just sitting because we don't have the money to repair it.
Customers, please be wary of this station's practices. We are filing a grievance with the Bureau of Automotive Repairs and with the BBB to ensure that we get justice. Please be alert and go to an approved repair shop run by trustworthy mechanics.
