Dont have Gomez install a tankless water heater

3 years after having a Noritz tankless water heater installed by Gomez, the unit periodically stopped working. Called Gomez but no one answering their phone (are they out of business?). Anyway, called Noritz and they suggested a Platinum installer. I called SoCal Tankless who came out and indicated several problems with the installation by Gomez, including incorrect venting and incorrect gas line installation. The venting problem (they tied venting into furnace/air conditioning venting which is not as recommended by Noritz or to code). Platinum installer thinks the incorrect venting caused condensation to drip back into tankless water heater, and it now rust is forming inside the unit. It would cost over $2k to fix the issues with the poor installation. I'm probably going to go back to a conventional water heater as it is about half this much.
