I am an attorney and have been getting hit harder and harder every year with taxes. Plus, my financial landscape has been getting more and more complex.
I actually met Daniel (owner of Honest Tax) and some of his staff at a social/business event. Over the next couple hours, we didn't talk much about his business, but I learned a lot about Daniel's character and about the way he treats people. I had just filed (myself) for an extension for 2016 taxes, so I set up an appointment with him to address a couple tricky questions I had. I sent a few years' past returns, and the one I was going to file. I got to his office late (usual for me), but was warmly greeted by staff, and they already seemed to know a lot about me. When I got to the meeting room, there were already 4 professionals there, including Daniel. These guys took 90 minutes to just ask questions about my business, my goals, my finances, my investments, etc. They asked me to come back in a week to discuss some financial/tax options after they had a chance to more closely review my answers and the old tax returns.
I came back in a week, and they had a comprehensive plan for me. All set out with timing, costs, and what I would need to do to make it happen. Over the next three months we implemented much of the plan, and I had them do my taxes for 2016. They took over the filing process, only asking me to get them the underlying documents, and they handled the rest. Just a couple calls the week before they were due just to make sure all the i's were dotted. It was as painless as tax filing has ever been. And, I was pleasantly surprised on the level of refund I got, and how they set up my tax payments for 2017. These guys have been great to work with, and I recommend them to anyone that will listen to me!!
And, he has the best staff ever!!
