Review 9/8/2011
|
On July 16th, 2011, Mr. Galvan (owner of JG Home & Office Repairs) started working on the flat roof in our family room with approximate dimensions of 19'x26'. Mr. Galvan was to rebuild the roof by raising the level on the Northeast corner of the roof and gradually bringing the slope down toward the Southwest corner to provide efficient drainage. The roof was to be covered with roofing membranes and asphalt paper and to be properly sealed from water leakage. All materials were provided by us. Mr. Galvan was to do some remodeling in our family room, but after we seen his work on the roof we decided not to have him continue working on the other projects inside the house. Though we were not satisfied with the workmanship, we did paid him in full on July 23rd, 2011. Since the roof was rebuilt by Mr. Galvan, we have made two service calls to have him come back to fix the leaks. The first service call was to address the gap/joint between to new roof and the existing roof that was not properly sealed. The second call was to reseal around the heating/cooling vent. We also pointed out to him during his second visit that there were two large puddles of water on the roof after it rained. Also the fascia and flashing were poorly installed. Mr. Galvan explained that puddle(s) on flat roofs are unavoidable and they will evaporate, regarding the fascia and flashing he simply stated that there are different ways of install them and did not take responsibility for his poor workmanship. Moreover, Mr. Galvan does not know how to install a pre-hung door, even worst than that he cannot set a skylight straight on its frame. I can provide pictures upon request as they speak volumes about his experience and his workmanship.
