I could not believe an A rating on this company. We contracted with Danny at MiraMar to repair a leaking deck. Danny seemed like an honest contractor, and gave us a year warranty on the deck. We had the repair done between November 2009 through early 2010, and by April 2010 the leak started again, worse than before running down the dry wall and warping the walls. We paid him over 7000 dollars between the repairs and additional work he was supposed to do. Danny came over and said he'd fix everything, including our one inner door for an additional 1200 dollars on a new contract. We gave him 1/2 down (600.00 dollars) and he came over to measure for a new door, took off the original Schlag hardware, and has never been seen or heard from again. We've tried e-mails and phones and letters. His message machine was full, and one of his e-mails said he hurt his back but would get us fixed-up. We filed with the Attorney General (AG) office who contacted him, and Danny assured him he would "take care of the issues." He never has, and the leaks are worse than ever. So much for the year guarantee on the deck. It expired on October 2010. The AG said the only thing we could do was take him to small claims court and hope that MiraMar had not filed for bankruptcy. This contractor is a major con artist. He comes across friendly and sincere, and then doesn't honor his work. You have been warned. We wish we had been warned. We could have used that money to get a reputable person instead of a con artist who talks a good talk. It only goes to show that a year warranty isn't good if you have someone who is a dishonest person who doesn't care about his reputation will not give him 1 star because he doesn't even have the decency to refund a portion of the money and apologize. He has totally "blown us off" and has NEVER contacted us again, even after the Attorney General talked with him about our complaints.We wish this company would not even get 1 star but the posting won't take anything less than 1 star.
