Took great care of my claims, but then cancelled my policy
|
I filed 2 claims with MDPA for my Motorola Android Pro. The first time it had a broken screen after being dropped and they replaced the screen with no deductible. My second claim was for the power button no working and the camera not taking pictures correctly. After receiving my phone, I immediately got an email back stating my phone was unrepairable and they would be sending me a "new one". As far as I can tell it is brand new, no scratches even under a bright light, still had the protective plastic on it. Phone arrived next day air. I put my sim card and SD card back in, activated it over the air with Verizon and have had no problems since.
1 week later I did receive a letter from MDPA stating due to claims processed and reaching the maximum , they were cancelling my coverage canceled "due to the replacement costs reaching the plan’s liability limit". At first I was a bit upset, but after thinking about they had replaced my screen and replaced my phone, both within a year without a deductible. My out of pocket was $130 for 2 years of coverage, so I am still money ahead.
In my opinion and my case, MDPA did exactly what I wanted it to do, replace my phone when it didn't work
