I have been out of work for over a year and hired Newpath Financial during my time unemployed. They call me every week to follow up on what they are doing and to see if I have any problems. I have settled 6 out of 8 cards (so far)for half of what I owed. They seem to really care. If you don't want to negotiate with your credit cards directly, or only have a limited amount of money each month to pay your debt, I think this is actually the way to go. Of course it's not for everyone and you should be aware that you still can be sued.
