Review 10/2/2011

I am a customer with North Star Water Users. I have been for four years. When we first moved into our house we noticed very low water pressure, we contacted North Star. They did send someone out to check on the problem. The tech had to adjust the setting on our meter. It helped a little, but not much. The longer we have lived here the worse it got. I called again, this time it took 5 WEEKS for someone to return my call! They again sent a tech out. He said the water was at 65 psi, so the issue must be on my end. I called a plumber he said everything was in well working condition. He also stated 65 psi is not all the great and the psi at the meter could differ from the pressure within the house if the water supply does not have the volume needed to keep a consistent pressure. It may pressure up at 65 psi then the volume decreases and so does the pressure. North Star put in a new 10 inch line, they have stated this may help with the pressure. The new line is not active yet, so we don't know if it has helped. I have made another phone call because the pressure has been decreasing again through the week. They were cementing the fire hydrants they installed, so I wonder if they decreased the volume to pressure test the hydrants? The main point of this review is: they need to improve on customer support and call backs. Maybe find an engineer to help them increase pressure to the customers. I mean come on, it took 30 minutes to fill my bathtub to just under the clean out valve. You can't fill a glass with water if the water is running somewhere else in the house. It is very irritating!!!
