Review 6/2/2010

I was initially impressed with the customer service and what seemed to be honesty at the time. The owner and salesman told us that he had replaced and /or serviced multiple parts on the car such as the transmission, timing belt, fuel pump, battery, seats, and more. He said he was so sure that the car would be dependable but he would throw in a 6 month used car warranty just to ease my mind. Now that we have had continuous problems with the vehicle we have learned that it is more expensive for us to use the warranty than was explained at the time we purchased the vehicle. But it is a good ploy to get someone to buy a vehicle.
The next day after the purchase we noticed the transmission was leaking, along with an oil leak. We took the car in to the dealers mechanic and they kept it over a week and said it was fixed which was obviously not true. Within the first three months and as of today we have had problems with and had to replace the fuel pump, transmission, battery, starter, break lines melted, master brake cylinder & booster, and those are the larger problems not to mention the small problems. Aside from that it is sitting parked because now it wont start and we still do not know what is wrong this time. Since we have bought the vehicle 6 months ago, with all the problems, we have drove the vehicle only and estimated 3 weeks. Everytime we get to drive it something else breaks. This tells me that the majority of his story was a lie and we feel he missrepresented the vehicle to make a sell. I would not suggest buying a vehicle from Roadrunner Auto Mart. We know you take a risk buying any used car, however, it is not ethical to lie about replacing car parts and throwing in a useless warranty. We did find newer vehicle for the same price with less miles, however, due to what we were told we thought we were assured at the time this was a great choice. We were wrong. The business response below offers to trade for a newer vehicle with less miles, but I dont think doing this at Roadrunner Auto mart is a wise choice based on our experience. Maybe better off trading elsewhere. IF this was not the business intent, it is still the business result and to me reflects how this company does business.

Business's response - by BradleyEon 6/3/2010

Rebekah and all,
We did do everything we said we did. It is unfair to categorize two mechanical issues that we were made aware of (one after delivery, one 5 months later) as an intent to do business in the manner you describe. It would be impossible to foresee everything that can go wrong with a vehicle, but it is predictable that a 12 year old vehicle with over 140,000 miles at the time of purchase is a more likely candidate for issues than say one with far less age and miles. I feel badly that you have had these problems with this vehicle. It is NEVER my intent to push a vehicle on anyone or sell one that has problems. We do not use any tactics like this!!!
This is a completely unfair, review of how we do business. I have been in business for 14 years, have sold thousands of vehicles and have full confidence in what we do.
The remedy I suggest is to let us trade you out of it, and purchase something newer and with less miles or let us try to find something of equal value.
As a note to others, brakes only last a certain amount of time. Mario told me they had been working perfect and suddenly failed. As did the brakes on another vehicle that we didn't sell you. Again circumstance is no indication of intent.
