The thing I like about Zecco is their community involvement. Zecco employees get involved with the community by making forum posts, sharing their portfolios among other things.
The thing I don't like that they've done is create this "bait and switch" tactic as other people have described. Zecco started at $3.50 a trade and 40 free trades a month declaring that the cost of commission is so low that they can afford to give away 40 free trades. Now, the commission is increasing and the number of free trades is down to 10 while now needing to maintain a $2,500 portfolio.
Zecco is a little less free now. I wish Zecco had just come out and been honest with regard to the increased commissions and lower number of free trades (if you even get any). Instead Zecco puts spin on it saying they want to add new "low cost" tools. Everyone joined Zecco for free trades, not "low cost" tools that you can get for free elsewhere.
I remain in Zecco for the time being, disappointed, but still here.
