Dazzle Smile "free trial" - a tangled web of deceit.
I ordered what I thought was a free trial sample of Dazzle Smile online and also ordered a sample of Clean Whites (review posted on this web site) the same day so I could compare the two. The $1.95 Dazzle Smile shipping cost was charged to my credit card on August 21, 2009 under the name "Whitesmile" and the product arrived quickly. I decided to try Dazzle Smile first and then try Clean Whites when the Dazzle Smile was gone.
Dazzle Smile comes in a tube and is a clear gel. It is easy and quick to use and has a pleasant minty taste. I used the product until it was gone (17 days used morning and evening) and I could see some slight lightening of the tea/coffee stains on my teeth. The company recommends using the product for eight weeks or so to obtain the full benefit.
On September 9, 2009, an additional $79.28 was charged to the same credit card under the name "Healthsmile." When I called the attached telephone number I was told that future automatic shipments could be cancelled, but the $79.28 charge was not refundable. The CSR said that the "free sample" I received was actually a one-month supply and that the charge would stand.
It was certainly not clear from the web site that ordering this "free sample" of product would result in enrollment in an auto-ship program. Also, it was hard to believe that the one tube of product I received could be considered a one-month supply. I used it conservatively and it lasted for two and a half weeks.
Dazzle Smile is a product that I would consider buying again if it had not been for the shady marketing practices used by the company. I will not order it again for that reason.

It gets worse. Now there are two additional charges ($6.95 and $8.53) on my credit card related to Dazzle Smile. When I called the listed phone numbers I was told that the $6.95 is a monthly charge for membership in a "fitness program" and the $8.53 is a monthly charge for "membership in a weight loss web site." Both were "automatically included" with the "free sample" of Dazzle White. My advice: just don't do it.
